Vegan salad dressing - without egg and dairy products

Lunchtime is salad time for many people. And yet homemade salads often fail because people don't feel like making the salad dressing themselves. Yet it is so easy to prepare a large amount of it and then always have a supply for several portions. Many classic salad dressings contain dairy products or egg.

If you want to avoid animal ingredients or have an intolerance to egg or dairy products, but still like creamy salad dressings, then it's worth giving these 2 recipes for vegan salad dressings a try.

Vegan salad dressing recipe 1: American ranch dressing

Ranch dressing is a popular mild salad dressing that is actually made from buttermilk, onions, garlic and herbs.

2 tablespoons cashew butter
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 tablespoons water
3 tablespoons lemon juice (about 1/2 lemon)
1 generous pinch of sea salt
1 teaspoon organic garlic powder
1 handful chopped fresh herbs (e.g. chives, dill and parsley)

Mix the cashew butter with the water and lemon juice, then add the remaining ingredients and mix well.

This creamy salad dressing is perfect for leaf salads.

I tried the Ranch salad dressing for the first time today and was delighted.

Now I would like to introduce you to my personal favorite. This vegan salad dressing goes like this:

Vegane Salatsauce mit Salat in einer Schüssel auf einem Tisch

Vegan salad dressing recipe 2: Julia's salad dressing

3 dl cold-pressed organic olive oil
1 dl apple vinegar
1 level tablespoon mustard (mild or hot)
1 tablespoon dried herb mix
1 teaspoon untreated sea salt

Pour into a salad shaker or simply into a screw-top jar and shake vigorously until you have a creamy dressing. The salad dressing is also ideal for our salad in a jar recipe idea. To keep salad in the fridge for longer, layer it in a jar so that the greens don't get soggy. Perfect for work.

You can add fresh herbs to the salad that you like and that your garden provides, as well as freshly chopped onions or crushed garlic. We do not recommend adding these fresh ingredients to the basic dressing.
