Recipe for chia muesli with apple and cinnamon

Chia seeds are one of the so-called "superfoods" that Americans are so enthusiastic about. They originally come from Mexico and are also becoming increasingly popular here. I have already reported on these power seeds in the past.

Today I came across chia seeds in a consultation because they provide us with long-lasting energy and can therefore also be eaten before a training session or competition. They are also ideal as a healthy breakfast because their high protein and fiber content keeps you full for a very long time.

I promised my client this recipe, which I am of course happy to share with you:more

Ingredients

1.5 dl water
2 tsp almond butter
2 tbsp chia seeds
0.5 tsp cinnamon
1 pinch of ground vanilla
1 grated apple
possibly maple syrup to sweeten

Preparation

Mix the chia seeds with the water, almond butter, cinnamon and vanilla and leave to stand for approx. 15-30 minutes (or put in the fridge overnight) so that the chia seeds swell. Make sure that you mix the chia seeds well with the liquid so that all the seeds are coated. Otherwise there will be lumps.

Mix in the grated apple before serving.

Personally, the muesli is sweet enough for me, but you can add a little maple syrup or honey if you like.

As I said, you can also soak the chia seeds in the fridge overnight and then just mix in the apple in the morning. To save time, I don't "grate" the apple by hand, but in a multi-shredder. It takes 5 seconds. You'll have your healthy breakfast ready in no time!

Chia seeds in yoghurt are also a delicious alternative if you want a lighter breakfast.
