Preventing hay fever: what you can do

More and more people are complaining about allergies. 30% of adults suffer from an allergy at least once during their lifetime. Almost 15% of them are allergic to pollen.

Common symptoms of hay fever

The most common symptoms of hay fever include:

→ Itchy and/or watery eyes
→ Sneezing
→ Stuffy/runny nose
→ Itchy throat/ears
→ Swollen eyes
→ Tiredness
→ Shortness of breath
→ Sleep disturbances

Although hay fever occurs seasonally for most people, there are only short periods with little pollen. Some allergy sufferers can barely catch their breath before it starts again. Depending on which pollen and how sensitive the body is to it, the main hay fever season is in spring and summer. Just when we are drawn outside again.

For many people, a visit to the outdoor pool or a barbecue with friends is not a pleasure, but pure agony. Itchy eyes, runny nose, sneezing attacks and, in the worst cases, shortness of breath and even allergic asthma ("change of floor").

What can allergy sufferers do against hay fever?

Conventional medicine offers cortisone-containing medication and effective antihistamines etc. for severely affected allergy sufferers. However, these are not completely free of possible side effects. Desensitization therapy, in which the body is slowly accustomed to the allergen by injecting small doses, can also help. However, the therapy is very lengthy and carries the risk of allergic shock. In addition, many people react to not just one, but several allergens. Another option is autologous blood therapy, in which the immune system is virtually reversed.

However, not everyone wants to take medication or be injected. Depending on the severity of the allergy and the subjective feeling of discomfort, it is also possible to take much gentler preventative measures. Protect the body early! It has been proven that taking certain minerals can counteract the development of hay fever. It is important to strengthen the immune system well in advance of the pollen season! Vitamin C, vitamin B6, zinc, magnesium, calcium or methionine are ideal for this. They help the immune system to cope better with allergic stimuli. Vitamin B6 and zinc support the breakdown of histamine.

As we know, the gut is our largest immune organ. Therefore, it should definitely be included in the preparation and supplemented with L-glutamine, ARKTIBIOTIC Premium and ColostrumSTRONG capsules and VITA D3 liquid stabilize.

We have therefore developed the unique Arktis hay fever bundle especially for hay fever sufferers. HAY FEVER BUNDLE for prevention and relief! Its active ingredients and preparations enable the body to cope better with allergies. Allergy cells are stabilized so that they cannot release histamine so quickly. At the same time, enzymes that break down histamine are stimulated. By taking coordinated products at an early stage, it can be ensured that the symptoms are much milder or completely absent, depending on the individual constitution at the time of pollen exposure.

However, allergy sufferers can also do a lot in everyday life to minimize the impact of pollen on the body:

→ Ask your doctor to check what you are allergic to (cross-allergies).
→ Outdoor sports enthusiasts in particular should check the pollen count calendar every day. Avoid being outdoors
when the pollen count is at its highest!
→ Ventilate when the pollen count is at its lowest (in the countryside in the evening between 7-24
/ in the city early in the morning between 6-8).
→ Attach pollen protection to the windows (cut-to-size fleece, easy to attach to the window frame with
Velcro tape).
→ At home: Get out of your clothes! There is a lot of pollen on them.
→ Do not hang up street clothes in the bedroom.
→ Wash out your hair at home every evening if possible.
→ Protect mucous membranes (nasal showers, isotonic salt water nasal sprays,
nasal ointment as a physical barrier).
→ Pollen filter in the car.

Choose low-pollen vacation destinations:
→ In the high mountains (over 2,ooo m), the air is practically pollen-free in summer
→ On the North Sea or the Altantic coast

Very important to prevent allergies later on: children in particular should not be kept away from all dust and dirt. The immune system grows with its tasks! If they grow up in an overly sterile environment, there is a higher risk of the immune system overreacting later on. As spring approaches, it's the best time to protect your body from annoying hay fever
symptoms!
