Don't gain weight on vacation: So you can enjoy yourself without regrets

It's time to go on vacation!

We are so looking forward to "dolce vita", balmy evenings, sun, beach, sea and - yes, good food too. Really relaxing and enjoying life to the full without counting calories. If only there wasn't always that guilty conscience hovering over us with every portion of ice cream. Because we don't want to put on weight on vacation. But that doesn't have to be the case, because there's no point in going without on vacation. With a few simple tricks, you can eat on vacation without gaining weight. The best thing is: you don't have to miss out on delicious dishes.

Don't gain weight on vacation - here's how!

1. don't skip a meal

Breakfast

A good breakfast is the perfect start to the day. Skipping breakfast is not a good idea. That way you won't be overtaken by a ravenous appetite later on, which will tempt you to eat greasy club sandwiches or chips on the beach. What's important is what's on the breakfast table. Ideally, you should start the day with muesli, fruit and yoghurt - you can even have an egg.
Tip: Use sheep's and goat's milk products instead of high-fat cow's milk products, which are lower in calories.

Lunch

At high temperatures, very few people are hungry at lunchtime. Excessive portions and heavy meals put a strain on the body, so you should opt for fruit or salads if possible. Eating fresh fruit and vegetables ensures the intake of
vitamins and minerals that are lost through sweating.
Tip: It's best to make your own salad dressing to suit your taste, which saves calories.

Dinner

On vacation, you should take advantage of the amenities offered by your vacation destination. This includes local food in particular. Freshly caught fish and sun-ripened fruit and vegetables. What we would have to go to great lengths to get and prepare at home can be served in top quality on vacation.
Tip: Always order a large bottle/carafe of water in the restaurant before eating. It is best to avoid the bread basket or take a piece out and then put it away.

2. focus on local specialties

Whether in a hotel or as a self-caterer - nowhere are the specialties of your vacation destination fresher on the table than here! Look out for local dishes at the buffet and in the supermarket. Whether it's melon, mango, vegetables or fish - go for it!
Tip: Self-caterers can buy nuts as a snack between meals: they keep you full for a long time and provide valuable fats. Instead of red meat, buy poultry, which also contains a lot of protein.

Tip: sensitive stomachs react sensitively to any change. Some unfamiliar foods can temporarily irritate the digestive system. To support the body in its digestive work, it is recommended to take products with acacia fiber, such as our GROW acacia fiber powder. This helps to regulate digestion. The high proportion of soluble fiber naturally improves the breakdown of food. GROW contains pure acacia fibers without synthetic additives, has a neutral taste and is very well tolerated. Thanks to its powder form, GROW is particularly suitable for trips to warmer vacation destinations.

3. enjoy the moment

Ein Mann, der im Urlaub nicht zunehmen will, hat seine Beine und roten Schuhe auf einer Hängematte abgelegt.

Our everyday lives are often characterized by a lack of time - we often gobble down our food. As a result, we miss out on our body's natural feeling of satiety and unconsciously consume more calories than our body needs. On vacation, the clocks go slower. Relax your mind and body, take a deep breath and relax - even when eating. Take your time - enjoy every bite.

4. grab a bite here!

You can enjoy these delicacies on vacation without regrets:

→ Lots of fresh fish and/or seafood, poultry
→ Fruit, vegetables and salads without limit
→ Rice and pasta (without heavy cream sauces, they are especially hard on the stomach in the heat)
→ Good, cold-pressed olive oil, fresh herbs and garlic
→ Pulses (beans, peas, chickpeas, lentils)
→ Low-fat dairy products made from goat's and sheep's milk
→ Red wine (rich in antioxidants)
→ Dessert: Fruit salad, fruit sorbets, fruit cakes

Even more strategies for not gaining weight on vacation

→ Slow down: Enjoy your meal, take your time!
→ Don't overeat at the buffet and don't overfill your plate - if you're still hungry
, go back for more.
→ Drink, drink, drink - preferably water.
→ Not hungry in the midday heat? Better to skip a meal than eat without hunger
→ Children love melon and other exotic fruits. Be sure to offer them when they get hungry. French fries and the like are also available at home.
→ Dessert is expressly permitted (see the dessert options mentioned under 4.).
→ Consciously discover the local cuisine, e.g. in small taverns or an osteria
→ Be active - whether searching for shells with the kids, a game of water polo or a
romantic evening stroll.
→ Get to know the vacation destination - go on excursions worth seeing.
→ Gently support sensitive stomachs in digesting foreign food (e.g. with ARKTIS acacia fiber powder GROW)

As you can see, you can go on vacation without putting on weight. Relax and take these tips to heart, then you won't get a shock on the scales after your vacation.

We wish you an enjoyable vacation from the bottom of our hearts. Stay healthy!
