Time and again, customers look at me in disbelief when I tell them that they are welcome to use salt as a seasoning. "I thought salt was unhealthy?" is then the objection.
The main reason why salt is said to be unhealthy is because it has a negative impact on our blood pressure. People with high blood pressure are therefore often prescribed a low-salt diet. However, this can no longer be scientifically proven.
It all depends on the quality of the salt

The meta-analysis by Danish Cochrane experts shows that a low-salt diet only minimally reduces blood pressure, but statistically significantly increases the stress hormones renin, aldosterone, adrenaline and noradrenaline.
The meta-analysis published in the journal "Heart" in 2012 also found that the risk of sudden cardiac death was increased by 72 percent and that of death from heart failure by 123 percent when salt was reduced. Patients with reduced salt consumption had to be hospitalized 110 percent more often than people with normal salt intake.
So it seems that the formerly evil salt is no longer so evil... My recommendation is: just pay attention to the quality of the salt! It should not be highly purified, chemically treated salt with anti-caking agents, anti-caking agents or aluminum, but natural.
Life is not possible without salt. On the other hand, today's salt consumption is considered harmful to health. This is because our so-called table salt has little to do with the original salt found in salt crystals. Commercial table salt is based on "chemically purified" sodium chloride.
Other essential minerals and trace elements are removed in the process, even though the addition of iodine and fluorine is very common nowadays. Natural crystal salt is much more than just sodium chloride, it consists of not just two, but all natural elements. It is precisely these natural elements that make up our bodies. The mixture of water and salt is known as brine. Brine means something like "liquid sunlight". When water and salt are combined, the positive ions of the salt surround themselves with the negative ions of the water molecules and the negative ions of the salt with the positively polarized parts of the water molecules. Preparation of the crystal brine
Place one or more salt crystals in a small sealable glass container. Make sure that the salt crystals are pure and natural (untreated, not "table salt"). Salt crystals can be bought in health food stores or organic stores, for example. Fill the jar with good spring water until the crystals are covered. After about an hour, they will have dissolved enough to form a 26% saturated and ready-to-use crystalline brine solution.
Instructions for the brine drinking cure
Remove a teaspoon of brine from the jar in which you prepared the brine. Pour this into a drinking glass and fill it up with spring water.
The diluted brine solution is best drunk every morning after getting up on an empty stomach. However, it can also be used throughout the day. Add a teaspoon of brine to a liter of water and drink it throughout the day.
