A look behind the scenes at the production of our supplements at Arktis BioPharma Germany

Team Arktis BioPharma Switzerland gets to know the production of our supplements in Germany

A quality feature of our Arktis BioPharma products is their outstanding quality. And this is ensured by in-house research and development, the purchase of high-quality raw materials and the filling and control by our producer and partner, Arktis BioPharma Germany.
As our team members Milena Moritz and Antonia Kälin had never been to Arktis BioPharma in Wickede before, the four of us went there to get an idea of production on site.
Antonia and Milena were allowed to lend a hand themselves on the day, fill products, stick labels on jars, assemble an order and gain an insight into the warehouse and customer service. At the end of the exciting day, they both said in unison: "We never thought that the production of Arktis products would involve so much manual work!"
In this article, we take you on our trip to Wickede (North Rhine-Westphalia, near Dortmund) and tell you about our impressions.
Find out how Arktis BioPharma's innovative production process sets new standards to provide you with the purest and highest quality supplements for your gut health.

Step 1: Selection of high quality ingredients

The production process at Arktis BioPharma begins in the state-of-the-art laboratory.
Here, the team of researchers and experts select the ingredients for the individual food supplements based on their own formulation and intensive development phase. All with the aim of using only the best ingredients in the right combination to achieve the best possible effect on your intestinal health.
Once the perfect product has been developed, it is sent to the production facility in solid, liquid or powder form for further processing so that you can take your supplement at the end.

Step 2: Preparation of the production process

In the next step, the trained employees collect the required utensils from the warehouse. All specialists are equipped with gowns, face masks, hairnets and gloves to ensure maximum hygiene throughout the entire process.
Equipped with capsules, tablets or powder and jars, the production team passes through an airlock into the so-called filling room. The rest of the production process can then continue here , protected from contamination.
Our first impression: Wow, it could not be more hygienic, tidy and clean not!

Step 3: Filling the supplements

Produktion unserer SupplementeThe colleagues then use the capsule filling machine.
This begins by weighing the food supplements individually and in the correct quantity. The team carries out various test counts during the process to ensure that the highest quality standards are met.
The machine then fills the supplements into capsules and tablets and fills them into the jars in which you will later receive your supplements.
Throughout the entire process, constant checks are carried out by employees to ensure that no capsule, tablet or jar has any defects or irregularities.
We ourselves were pleasantly surprised by the speed and accuracy of our colleagues: After all, we were also allowed to lend a hand and fully accompany the process - but were nowhere near as fast as the team on site.

Step 4: Cleanliness and cleaning

Produktion unserer Supplemente
After filling, the production facility is regularly cleaned and disinfected in accordance with the HACCP standard. HACCP stands for Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points and is an internationally recognized system for ensuring food safety.
Employees use special cleaning agents and disinfectants to thoroughly clean all machines and equipment as well as work areas and storage areas.
They also carry out regular allergen tests.
We found it interesting that filling always has to be planned well in advance. Because when a bag of powder or capsules is opened, it has to be filled right to the end.
And then the machines have to be cleaned before the end of the day.

Step 5: Sealing and finishing

Produktion unserer SupplementeFinally, the filled jars are carefully sealed by hand. Each jar is provided with a tamper-evident seal and a unique batch number is printed on it, which makes it possible to trace the product back to its manufacture.
After sealing, the jars are professionally labeled.
During this step, the trained team also ensures that the products are safe and protected so that they arrive intact. guarantee.
What we particularly liked about this step was how precisely our colleagues work, how much is done manually and without a machine. Each glass passes through several hands and is checked very carefully.
Attention is also paid to the sustainable use of materials:
No unnecessary plastic is used, amber glass is used as packaging where possible, refill bags are compostable and contain no plastic lining. In addition, too much packaging material is never used to store the products.

The visit has definitely increased our understanding of production processes!

Some advantages of producing our own supplements

Produktion unserer SupplementeArktis BioPharma's own production has clear advantages:

  • Formulation adjustmentsFormulas can be optimized more easily. Arktis BioPharma focuses on health and the benefits for the customer, so no fillers, excipients or additives are used wherever possible. Only what is really necessary and effective actually ends up in the product.
  • Private label on offerBecause Arktis BioPharma products are bottled and labeled on site, we are in a good position to offer our products as private label products. As a therapist or pharmacy, you can therefore offer Arktis products with your own name/label. Feel free to contact us if you are interested!
  • Adaptations to the Swiss market possibleBecause Arktis BioPharma Germany produces its own products, we have been able to adapt certain products to the Swiss market.

For example, our essential amino acids Arktiamin or Multiviatmin Basis Care plus have a different formulation in Switzerland than in Germany. We were also able to have products produced specifically for Switzerland, such as the combination preparation of coenzyme Q10 and NADH, Energy.
This gives us the flexibility we need to offer you products that are actually permitted and marketable in Switzerland.

Our conclusion from the trip to Arktis BioPharma Germany and getting to know the production of our supplements

We really enjoyed our visit to Wickede!
At Arktis BioPharma, the work of a traditional manufacturer is combined with state-of-the-art technology.
From the careful selection of materials to the final production of each individual food supplement, the focus is on quality, hygiene, safety and attention to detail.
This ensures that you receive only the purest and highest quality supplements to support your gut health.
We are grateful that we can offer products that are manufactured in Germany and do not have to rely on Chinese goods or products from the USA, as many other manufacturers do.
Raw materials used for the production of the supplements can of course still come from countries outside Europe if they are not available in Europe. However, the quality tests and certificates of analysis are carried out in Germany.
"Made in Germany" is not just an empty promise at Arktis BioPharma, but is actually practiced. We were able to see this for ourselves on site.

A thank you at the end

Produktion unserer Supplemente

We would like to thank the whole team at Arktis BioPharma Germany fora great day!

Not only were we able to experience the production of our food supplements up close and carry out the individual work steps ourselves, but we also got to know the team members better. We are very grateful for the partnership we have with them.

And if you already know the polar bear team from Wickede personally, you won't be surprised that there was plenty of fun to be had during our visit! In the evening, we were able to play 3D mini golf together and try some North German delicacies in the restaurant.
