Why my podcast is now in Swiss German and what that means for you (DG321)

E chli meh i mim Dihei - why the podcast is now in Swiss German

The Darmglück podcast is one of the few health podcasts in Swiss German - for anyone who wants sound knowledge about the gut, nutrition and personal responsibility.

After 325 episodes in High German, Julia Gruber takes a bold step: in this emotional episode, she says goodbye to High German, at least for her solo episodes. She explains why she is continuing her podcast in Swiss German from now on, what this means for you and how it is still possible to stay tuned, even if you don't speak Swiss German.

Highlights

  • Julia says thank you: an honest, touching thank you to all listeners
  • A look back at 325 episodes and over 720,000 downloads
  • The most listened to episodes: e.g. "Histamine fallacy", "Gut-brain axis", "No tomatoes for gut problems"
  • Why Swiss German?
  • How you can stay tuned despite the language change (show notes, interviews remain in High German)

Review & thanks

325 episodes. 720,497 downloads. Wow. When I say these numbers out loud, I really realize what a journey it has been. And this journey was not only long, it was also rich. Rich in topics, in personal experiences, in interviews with wonderful people, and rich in you. In your time, your trust, your feedback. You can find a few episodes that were listened to particularly often under "LINKS" below.

The reason for the change

So why this change? To be honest: it's been on my mind for a while. Swiss German is the language of my heart. It's the language in which I grew up, in which I think, feel and dream. And: we only sell our products in Switzerland. Most of our coaching clients live here. I realize how much many of them would like an even more personal approach. One that reaches them directly in their hearts. That's why it now feels right to continue the podcast in Swiss German. Not because High German is wrong or bad. But because I feel it's time to move a little closer to myself and to our community here in Switzerland.

A little metaphor from the health sector

Perhaps you know this from your health: sometimes something works really well. You have your routines, your diet, your supplements, and everything is going well. But then comes that moment when your body tells you: Now it needs something else. A new movement. A different form of recovery. Perhaps a food that wasn't right for you before, but is now just right. Change doesn't mean that the old was bad. It simply means that now is the time for something new. And that's exactly how it feels for me with the podcast.

What happens next

So from the next episode, the podcast will be in Swiss German. But don't worry if you're thinking: "Oh dear, then I won't understand anything..." I will continue to conduct interviews with guests in High German so that you can follow exciting conversations in the future too. And as before, each episode will contain detailed show notes in standard German so that you can read what it was all about in writing. If you are motivated to decode a bit of Swiss German, feel free to stick with it. And if you decide to say goodbye: That's totally understandable too.

I just want to say thank you. Thank you for your time, your ear, your openness

These last 324 episodes have shaped me. I hope they have also accompanied you for a while. Maybe on a walk. While driving. While cooking. And who knows, maybe we'll hear each other again one day. In High German. Or even... in Swiss German. Until then, I wish you all the best, good health and confidence in yourself and your path. Take care - and take care.
