Migraine therapy is individual and complex
Migraine is a complex issue because there are so many different types of migraine and so many different causes. Histamine can be an issue or a cause. But, as you will hear in the podcast, stress or a problem with sugar metabolism, tension and inflammation and even sensitivity to the weather can also be an issue or a cause. In this episode, I interview my husband Roman about his experiences with migraines and how he has managed to get from 200 migraine days a year down to around 30 migraine days a year. And what he is currently doing to reduce this number even further.
If you are affected by migraines yourself, then this episode is definitely a treasure trove of possibilities of what you can still try, what factors you can consider and also to learn why you should never give up.
My guest, Roman Gruber, is co-founder and CEO of Arktis BioPharma Switzerland. His background is in orthomolecular therapy, biochemistry, gut health, health coaching and professional sports. He was a handball goalkeeper, martial artist, duathlete and Ironman triathlete. Now, depending on the season, his hobbies include mountain biking and cross-country skiing. Roman and I ran a gut health practice together in Basel for over 10 years until we decided to focus more on Arktis products.
Question
I asked Roman the following questions:👉How long have you had migraines?
👉What have you already done?
👉What has proved particularly useful in retrospect?
👉What would you recommend to a migraine sufferer as the best course of action?
👉What are possible causes of migraines?
👉What do gut health and diet have to do with migraines?
👉What do you think about fasting for migraines?
👉What can you tell us about mitochondria and migraines?
I hope this episode has encouraged you to keep at it and not despair! As Roman mentioned, he's also had moments when he thought he couldn't go on living like this. But he always picked himself up again and, step by step, improved his quality of life and found ways to suffer fewer and fewer migraine attacks.
Summary
Here is a brief summary of what worked for Roman!👉Fewer fast carbohydrates and sugar Eating

Our coach Milena will be happy to support you. Our team can also help you with suitable nutritional supplements, such as our Sensitive to reduce histamine or our Energy with Q10 and NADH to support the mitochondria.
By the way, next week I'll be talking to another team member, Milena, about products for children. Like today's topic, the topic of products for children is a listener request.
