Successful use of supplements to strengthen the immune system
Many people do not yet see the connection between hay fever and the gut. If you suffer from pollen allergies or you know someone who has hay fever, then this episode is for you.
One of our customers, a professional cyclist, was at the start of a cycling race with puffy eyes. One of these 3 supplements I'm about to talk about helped her so much that she rode her next race symptom-free. So it's worth trying one or two of these supplements. In this episode, I talk about the options we can offer.
The cold season is not over yet, but things are already moving on for allergy sufferers. Spring is coming and with it the hay fever season. Around 20 % of all Swiss people are affected and then have to contend with watery eyes, drowsiness or a runny nose, among other things.
Antihistamines
Many people take antihistamines without thinking twice. These block the histamine in the body. However, they do not solve the problem. This means that the hay fever remains and, for many people, gets worse from year to year until at some point the medication no longer works or only works unsatisfactorily. In addition, antihistamines, like all medications, also have side effects.
For example
- tiredness
- dizziness
- loss of appetite
- Dry mouth
- Irritating cough
- diarrhea
- constipation
One of our customers is a surgeon. He can't operate if he has swollen eyes from hay fever. But the side effects of an antihistamine during an operation, such as tiredness or diarrhea, are of course extremely detrimental. We recommended glutamine to him and it worked really well for him.
Alternatives to antihistamines
I would like to suggest another way than taking antihistamines. This is not to say that you should stop taking your medication immediately. I am giving you my experience and opinion here. However, it always makes sense to discuss your health with your doctor or therapist.Hay fever, like all allergies, is ultimately an overreaction of the immune system. 80 % of the immune system is located in the gut. You can therefore have a very positive influence on hay fever with gut health measures, including an anti-inflammatory diet.
Here I present 3 dietary supplements that can help you to relieve hay fever symptoms and also restore balance in your gut. So that you can work on the cause in the long term. In the next episode, I'll talk about what you can do about hay fever in terms of diet.
