The pH value in the gut as an indicator of the state of your microbiome (DG174)

The environment in your gut is crucial for your health

For me, one of the most important indicators of whether a person's microbiome is balanced is the pH value in the gut.
You've probably heard the word pH before, it's an indicator of whether something is acidic or alkaline. Neutral is 7, but a slightly acidic pH between 5.5 and 6.5 is ideal for the gut.
This sounds strange to many people at first, because we hear so much about the acid-base balance and how bad it is to be over-acidic. However, where in the body the pH value is measured plays a major role.
And the gut needs a slightly acidic environment so that the right bacteria can thrive and food can be properly utilized.

In this episode, I talk about the following points, among others:
  • Why is pH in the gut so important?
  • Where should a healthy pH value be in the gut and how can you test your pH value in the gut?
  • Possible causes of an elevated pH value in the gut
  • What are the consequences of an elevated intestinal pH?
  • What can you do to lower an elevated intestinal pH?

If you would like to learn more about microbiome analysis yourself and use this great option of non-invasive analysis in your practice in the future, then I would like to recommend our further training course "Specialist consultant for microbiome and metabolome", which will take place for the second time next year.
The course will provide you with everything you need to know about microbiome analysis, i.e. symptoms, stool values, treatment regimens, therapist boundaries, nutrition, dental health and even practice marketing, so that you can start offering microbiome analysis in your practice straight away.
You are welcome to write to me if you are interested in the training, or you can go tohttps://arktisbiopharma.ch/fachberater and download the flyer with all the information.
And for all non-therapists:
If you would like to do a microbiome analysis with us, please contact us, our therapist Milena will be happy to help you.
