How a little-known substance from the amino acid methionine can support your metabolism
Today I am delighted to introduce you to a new product in our online store, SAMe. I have invited a great expert for this, namely Dr. Simon Feldhaus.
We have been working closely with Simon for many years - he is an experienced general practitioner and is also an alternative practitioner. He has extensive experience in orthomolecular medicine, phytotherapy, mitochondrial medicine, complementary oncology and pain therapy.
Simon runs the Paramed medical center in Baar and is President of SSAAMP, the Swiss Society of Anti-Aging Medicine and Prevention. He is also co-initiator and lecturer of our popular "Specialist consultant:in for microbiome and metabolome" training course - together with Roman and myself.
You can watch the whole interview as a video here:
And listen to or download it as audio here. Of course, you can also find the episode in your favorite podcast app, whether on Apple Podcasts, Spotify or wherever you like to listen to podcasts.
In this episode, we talk about a topic that may be new to many - but has great potential: SAMe (S-adenosylmethionine).
What's behind this complicated name? Why is this substance so valuable when it comes to mood, liver health and joint problems? And how can you find out whether SAMe would be useful for you?
Simon explains in an understandable way why he considers SAMe to be a real all-rounder in orthomolecular medicine.
We talk about
- The role of SAMe in the body - what it has to do with methionine
- How it supports neurotransmitters such as serotonin and melatonin
- Why it's so important for liver metabolism and inflammation
- When you shouldn't take it on its own
- What you should look out for if you want to try SAMe
- Why stress has so many facets - and how SAMe can support you
Very important: This episode is not only interesting if you are currently experiencing a low point of exhaustion yourself, but also for therapists who want to expand their toolbox.
Note for professionals:
In September 2025, a professional seminar will take place with Dr. Simon Feldhaus and many other experts such as Dr. Burkahrd Schütz, Dr. Egor Egorov and Dr. Klaus Berndsen, where we will look at stress in all its complexity - physically, emotionally and biochemically.
You will learn about specific tools: from body and breath work to heart rate variability and micronutrients such as SAMe. An integrative approach that really goes into depth.
You can find all the information here.
Listen in and find out whether SAMe could be a little game changer for you too - in the best sense of the word!
