Freedom begins in the gut: How health protects your independence
My appeal to all listeners: Don't give your personal power to the healthcare system! In this episode, I talk about the connection between freedom, independence and health. Because let's face it, in today's society, drugs are sold to us to make our lives easier. They are supposed to compensate for what we are not willing to implement in our lifestyle. Eating too many sweets and fast carbohydrates? Take a diabetes medication. Do you get too little exercise, eat out all the time and drink alcohol? Take an antihypertensive and a cholesterol-lowering drug. We are led to believe that it is completely normal to take several medications from the age of 50.
But what happens if a medication no longer works so well? Or it is suddenly unavailable from the manufacturer? What happens if you want to stop taking your acid blocker or antidepressant? It's not that simple.
Medication is sold to you by the healthcare system as a means of bringing freedom and independence, but you can regain your self-determination through healthy lifestyle changes.
