Everything you need to know about irritable bowel syndrome (DG144)

Irritable bowel syndrome is usually a diagnosis by process of elimination. If you have chronic bowel problems but all bowel diseases can be ruled out, then only irritable bowel syndrome remains.
In this episode, I talk about what typical irritable bowel symptoms are, how they can affect your everyday life and what you can do about them.

I address these points in the episode:
  • Typical symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome
  • What are the main causes of irritable bowel syndrome
  • Microbiome analysis for irritable bowel syndrome
  • Vitamin D and its importance for the gut
  • What is histamine and what does it have to do with irritable bowel syndrome?
  • What diet do I recommend?
  • What else can you do besides diet?
  • Which of our products can support you well

If you prefer to read information instead of listening, I can highly recommend our detailed article on irritable bow el syndrome.

As histamine is often an issue with irritable bowel syndrome, I also recommend the blog article on histamine intolerance.

Flatulence is also very common with irritable bowel syndrome, so please also read the article Flatulence - everyone knows it

In the episode, I promised that I would also link you to all the products that I consider helpful for irritable bowel syndrome:
  • Arktibiotic SENSITIVE .As the name suggests, the Sensitive is suitable for people with sensitive digestion. It also helps to reduce histamine production in the gut
  • or alternatively, if there is no histamine problem, the Arktibiotic COMPENS to provide your gut with good bacteria and calm your digestion
  • Colostrum STRONG strengthens your immune system and supports the build-up of your intestinal mucosa
  • >L-glutamine is an important amino acid for building up the intestinal mucosa, as irritable bowel syndrome is often associated with a permeable intestine
  • BITTERELIXIER supports digestion, helps to regulate the pH value and is particularly helpful for flatulence
  • Irritable bowel syndrome is often caused by a lack of butyrate formers and GROW acacia fibers are the ideal food for reintroducing these butyrate formers into the intestine. These prebiotic fibers are ideal food for good intestinal bacteria.
  • Research into the effects of CBD is still ongoing. However, studies suggest that CBD can have an anti-inflammatory effect, relieve pain and produce calming and anxiety-relieving effects
  • In this podcast episode, I also discussed the importance of vitamin D for irritable bowel syndrome, for which we used our VITAD3 Liquid
