Does it make sense to take probiotics during a course of antibiotics? (DG209)

Julia answers a question from a listener

It's always a pleasure to hear and read from you. And, of course, to answer your questions. This episode is about a question from podcast listener Anke:
"If I'm already feeding the gut bacteria while I'm still on antibiotics, won't they wipe out the freshly added good bacteria at the same time?"

My answer:
  • Nobody knows exactly what happens in the gut anyway
  • There are probably two camps, even among doctors: some are in favor of taking bacteria during the course of antibiotics; others are in favor of only taking them afterwards
  • The most important thing is to bring the environment back into order
  • The pH value rises when antibiotics are taken
  • This opens the door for pathogenic germs
  • Our Arktibiotic Akut has been specially developed to help during antibiotic intake and reduce the risk of diarrhea
  • It contains the yeast Saccharomyces Boulardii
  • Effective combination of medicinal yeast and 3 active lactic acid cultures. The perfect duo - direct help against diarrhea and simultaneous regeneration of the intestinal flora
  • Saccharomyces Boulardii neutralizes bacterial toxins, binds diarrhoea pathogens and helps to eliminate them from the body.
  • The lactic acid bacteria Streptococcus thermophilus, lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacteriium bifidum help to regenerate the intestinal flora and lower the pH value
  • Artikbiotic Akut can therefore be taken during a course of antibiotics. It is important to take antibiotics a few hours apart
  • After the course of antibiotics, I recommend Artikbiotic Premium or Artikbiotic Sensitive for histamine intolerance

This episode also includes two other pieces of feedback from listeners. They didn't just listen to the podcast, they put it into practice! Because they have realized that in order to feel better, it is not enough to collect information, but it is important to implement this information with concrete actions! And that's exactly what I recommend you do.
I give lots of suggestions and recommendations here in the podcast. But you won't improve if you just nod your head and find it interesting, when you put it into practice. So think about it immediately during or after each episode:
What can I take away from this for myself? How do I put it into practice? What specific steps can I take to improve my gut health?
For example, after this episode you could remember that if you are taking antibiotics, it makes sense to take a suitable bacteria and yeast product at the same time. It is also important to stimulate diversity again afterwards with a bacterial product or, above all, to acidify the environment again with lactic acid bacteria.
And if you have often taken antibiotics in your life or recently, you can still do so now. You can't go wrong with Arktibiotic Premium and Grow.
