Among other things, we talk about:
  • the importance of LCHF andwhy this form of nutrition is so helpful
  • how Margretand Irisalready withinshort timetheir healthlcomplaintsgot rid of their health problems
  • the LCHF Congress - a congress for like-minded people
  • the health andnutritionscoach training
  • for which complaints the LCHF method is particularly suitable

Tell us what your everyday life looks like.

Margret: We are currently working on our next congress and are about to go to press with the LCHF magazine, and we are also preparing our LCHF Academy.

That sounds like a lot of administrative work...

Iris: We are here in the beautiful countryside in Sweden and treat ourselves to walks in the forest in between and enjoy the time we have here. may.

When you tell people about LCHF, do many people look at you questioningly when they hear the term? And can you briefly explain what LCHF stands for and what it means?

Margret: LCHF is even less well known than low carb.

Iris: LCFH stands for "low carb high fat", which means eating fewer carbohydrates and increasing the proportion of fat in your diet. We got to know this fascinating method while on vacation in Sweden. I was familiar with the metabolic balance method from the low carb sector in Germany.

What was the reason that you became interested in this form of nutrition?

Iris: Because I was overweight, I had already tried many diets, but many methods didn't work in the long term. With LCHF, I even got rid of my migraines, which gave me much more joie de vivre, and I was also able to concentrate better.

You probably realized that weight is not the most important thing, but that joie de vivre and energy are more important?

Iris: That's right, there were many days when I wasn't able to work at all, which was a huge psychological burden. My figure has changed since then, but the focus is on my quality of life and energy. We also try to convey this with the LCFH method.

What was it like for you Margret?

Margret: I was slim until the menopause and then suddenly put on weight, and I was also a chronic pain patient. With LCHF, I was able to stop taking my pain medication after just a few months and my health was much better. From that point on, it was clear to me that LCHF was not just a weight loss program for me, but also a health program.

Now you know a lot of people who get information from you, eat this way and learn from you. Do you also experience these successes from many others?

Margret: I hear it from almost everyone else who tries it consistently. It's definitely the case that sugar triggers inflammation, and when these substances are reduced, you notice that many people feel much better.

Do you often get a headwind when you make recommendations?

Iris: Yes, a lot of people are also doctor-obsessed. However, we have also met many people who have gone their own way. Many of those who also train with us develop the motivation to pass on this knowledge to others professionally through their illness or their history. It's the best motivation of all when you want to pass on your own success story.

Margret: I'm sure you know that it's a real gift?

Yes, that's exactly why I want people to feel better again and have a better quality of life.If you find a diet that suits your own body and metabolism, then it's worth giving up certain things.

Margret: That's right, you can also choose other ingredients. I really avoid talking about giving up because we have so many options to eat well.

You always organize the LCHF Congress, where I will also be giving a talk next year. Would you like to tell us how the idea for the congress came about and how it developed?

Iris: The idea was born in Sweden. We took part in many training courses with well-known speakers such as Andreas Innfeld, Annika Dahlqvist and Sten Sture Skaldemann.

We also took part in training courses in Sweden to delve deeper into this topic and expand our knowledge. to be able to pass it on. In 2017, the first congress was held with 150 participants and great speakers in a beautiful, well-known location with fantastic low-carb catering. In 2018, there was a two-day congress with several speakers.

Margret: It's like a family reunion, because lots of people you know meet up here again.

I can only confirm that, it's a great congress, a great atmosphere and there aren't many congresses in Germany in this form.It appeals to everyone who cares about their health and wants to hear from different perspectives about what is important for a healthy metabolism.
There is also a great mix of topics and there are even well-known doctors on site who are interested in this type of nutrition. Ultimately, anyone can take part in this congress, regardless of whether they are a specialist or a layperson.
When exactly will the congress take place next year and where can I get my early bird ticket

Iris: The congress days will take place on February 29 and March 1, 2020 and tickets can be purchased on this website: https://low-carb-lchf-kongress.de

What I also like is meeting like-minded people. Because many people feel alone at first when they want to eat healthily, so this congress also empowers many others.

Iris: Yes, the LCHF diet is not such a big change, you just leave out the potatoes or pasta and choose salad or vegetables instead.

Margret: Many people hardly eat vegetables or salad any more.

How is LCHF practiced in Sweden, the motherland of LCHF?

Margret: If you say in a restaurant that you eat a low carb diet, you can state this, just like in Germany. Unfortunately, the trend has died down a bit. Many LCHFers have become a little tired of publicizing the topic. The people who were driving it forward have taken a back seat.

Iris: But you can stock up on vegetables and salad in Sweden. However, the Swedes love sweets in any form.

People can find enough information about this form of nutrition on your website and in the magazine, right?

Iris: Yes, the LCHF magazine is published by Expert Fachmedien and you can find helpful information on our website.

From your point of view, is it helpful to know why things are the way they are?
Margret: There are some people who want to receive clear instructions and there are also many interested people who question many things and also take part in our training later to share their knowledge.

What kind of training is it and what title do you receive at the end?

Iris: The title is "Health and Nutrition Coach, Low Carb - LCHF - Keto Lifestyle".

We provide holistic training. This training covers the areas of: Nutrition, mental training, stress management, exercise and relaxation, because it is important to us to look at mind and soul in a unified way.

Margret: We also offer other training courses such as: the Vitamin D Coach, or the Keto Coach by Julia Tulipan and Daniela Pfeifer, which is an advanced course and requires basic knowledge.

A course starts in October: Building material and building blocks of life/micronutrients with Fehmye Kerkhof. Further courses will follow soon. Dr. Sabine Paul will be offering a stress coach course from October and next year we will be taking a closer look at the topic of sleep with her, which will also be very exciting.

Can you list the people for whom it is worth taking a closer look at the LCHF diet and which complaints most people benefit from it?

Margret: For people with gastrointestinal problems, or for all clinical pictures that have an inflammatory component, diabetics, auto-immune diseases, etc.. However, this never replaces conventional medicine. Our wish would be for conventional medicine to work hand in hand with nutritional medicine.

Iris: It is also important to us that everyone learns for themselves what is good for them and that they create their own daily plan using lots of great recipes or a wide variety of seasonal products.

Thank you very much for the great interview, it's easy to see your love for the subject and for the people you can help.Do you have any final words that you would like to share with my listeners?

Iris: We have a 365-day audio program where you can listen to a daily audio input for a whole year on various topics such as health, nutrition, relaxation and mindfulness: Health, Nutrition, Relaxation and Mindfulness, Self Love & Goal Setting plus exciting interviews.

That sounds great, take care you two and see you very soon.
