DG061: The wheel of life - how balanced is your current life?

[g_podcast id="11518925"]

Today I have a short, active podcast episode for you and have brought you a great exercise from the Gut Happiness course.

It's about taking a closer look at your life, in which areas you are currently satisfied and in which you are not, and what you can do to take a step forward in all areas.

I'm currently working very hard on my new Gut Happiness course, as it's about to start a new round.

I'll be giving a free online seminar tomorrow, October 9 at 8 pm, on the topic: "The 3 biggest mistakes you're probably making when it comes to your gut health", as well as on Thursday, October 10 at 10 am.

Your wheel of life

As gut health has a huge impact on all areas of life, I have found in my many years of working

that nutrition and health is ultimately a tool to help you move forward in your life, because it gives many people the strength and energy to then better dedicate themselves to their other areas of life.

It's not just nutrition that nourishes us, but also our relationship, our job satisfaction, our living situation, our family, our friends - these are all things that nourish us and do us good.

In keeping with this, I am now sharing the following exercise: The "Wheel of Life"

My tip: You are welcome to repeat this exercise after a few months.

Feel free to download the PDF from this post here: Wheel of life exercise

Alternatively, you can design your own wheel of life. To do this, draw a large circle on a piece of paper and divide this circle into 4 quarters and divide each of these quarters twice so that you end up with 12 pieces.

Each of these pieces represents an area of life. Of course, you can also adapt these areas to suit you individually.
  1. Spirituality
  2. Creativity
  3. finances
  4. Career
  5. Further education
  6. health
  7. Exercise
  8. Cooking
  9. Living
  10. Relationships (family, partnership)
  11. Social life (friends)
  12. Joy

Start with one or two areas of your life!

Now think about how satisfied you are in each area. If you are very satisfied - mark this with a dot near the outer part of the circle and if you are dissatisfied, mark this with a dot in the inner part of the circle.

At the end, connect all the dots with a line and you can see whether your bike is round or has lots of

rough edges. The aim is for you to place many dots on the outside and thus lead a happy life.

As a second exercise, think about which of these areas that still have a few dents are particularly important to you and which of them would you like to tackle next? For example, your relationship or your job satisfaction, etc.

I recommend that you start with two areas.

Now choose one of the two areas from this wheel and think about the following: What would really be my dream, what should this area look like? How would you feel if you had already achieved this goal? How would you act and think, what qualities would characterize you?

Then you can start to Assume an identity in your mind, for example in the area of work: you would appear self-confident, you would take action quickly, etc., So you can take these qualities into your life right now to see what you can do for this right now.

I then recommend that you write down one or at most two steps that you could specifically implement in order to be happy in this area of your life again.

Focus completely on the first step

Even if your goal is still a long way off, focus on the very first step and make sure you write this step down, as writing it down will get into your subconscious more quickly.

Start taking action and move into implementation.

Take a quarter of an hour for yourself and this exercise, repeat it again and again and reflect on your progress.

Repeat this exercise every few months

I have often seen so many people experience that when they take care of their own health, they have more energy and strength again, can sleep better, are more self-confident and have therefore quickly improved other areas of their lives as well

.

I hope you like this exercise and that it gives you courage and joy.
