Attention sugar junkies: How to get away from increased sugar consumption (DG216)

It's not just people who want to lose weight who benefit from moderate sugar consumption, but anyone who wants to become or stay healthy in the long term

Our summer series continues, and today I have chosen one of my first podcast episodes that I would like to share with you again. It was called: Sugar - friend or foe?
Sugar has a bad reputation because too much sweet stuff makes you fat. But that's not the main problem with sugar. It's that too much sugar leads to rapid ageing, promotes inflammation in the body, weakens the immune system and robs the body of nutrients. This doesn't mean that you should stop eating sugar altogether! Rather, it means that you should pay attention to how much sugar you can put your metabolism through so that it can still do its job well and no harmful consequences arise. In this episode, you'll find out what this looks like in concrete terms.

In this episode, you'll find out:
👉Sugar is contained in many foods and can appear under different names
👉 Carbohydrates are broken down into sugar in the body and increase blood sugar levels
👉 A high insulin level prevents fat breakdown and promotes fat storage 👉 A high insulin level prevents fat breakdown and promotes fat storage 👉 A high insulin level prevents fat breakdown and promotes fat storage.fat storage
👉 Cravings and a constant feeling of hunger can be signs of a sugar metabolism problem
👉 Which blood values can indicate a disturbed sugar metabolism
👉 Fast carbohydrates cause sugar levels to rise quickly, while slow carbohydrates cause it to rise more slowly
👉 Too much sugar can lead to fat accumulation, inflammation and hormone fluctuations
👉 What you can do specifically to eat less sugar

In this episode, I will explain what exactly I mean by sugar, where it is found, what effect sugar has on insulin levels and fat burning. In addition, which blood values can indicate that you are eating too much sugar or that your body is no longer responding properly to insulin, and what you can do specifically to eat less sugar and still remain efficient.
A few years ago, I created a "sugar quiz". If you've never taken the test, you can find it here.

Beat the sugar cravings

If you're having trouble cutting out sugar because you simply crave it so much, or because you're afraid of being less efficient without it, then I'd like to recommend our "Say goodbye to sugar cravings" bundle. The bundle consists of the 3 products Galactose, Bitter Elixir and Acacia Fiber.

Galactose

Galactose is a simple sugar that does not increase insulin levels. This Simple sugars are particularly beneficial for brain performance (e.g. concentration) and can help to get rid of the constant craving for sweets. Galactose is also a great alternative sweetener that has no negative effects on the intestinal flora and does not increase insulin levels. You can stir it into your tea or coffee, use it in muesli or simply drink it with water.

Bitter Elixir

The bitter elixir contains various bitter substances that support your metabolism and liver, among other things. The great thing about the bitter drops is that if you put them on your tongue at the moment when you are craving something sweet, you will notice that your hunger for sweets subsides after about 30 seconds.

Acacia fibers

Acacia fibers are water-soluble dietary fibers and are also food for good bacteria, making them a so-called prebiotic. Among other things, their high fiber content prevents sugar levels from rising so quickly and they also help you feel fuller for longer after a meal.
