A look at gut health from a gynecologist's perspective - Interview with Dr. Sarah Fürling (DG224)

The importance of healthy bowel function and nutrition in women's health

When a gynecologist tells her patient with chronic cystitis that she should examine her bowels, this is still rather unusual today. In this interview with Dr. Sarah Fürling, MD, I talk to the holistic doctor not only about cystitis, but also about other complaints such as period pain or intolerances that can occur more frequently in women and that have a clear connection to gut health.

Sarah and I talk about topics such as
👉 Period pains
👉 Histamine
👉 The importance of the microbiome in pregnancy and newborns
👉 Why a colonoscopy cannot replace a microbiome analysis
Sarah explains in our conversation, how she became interested in gut health in the first place, how she manages to find time for microbiome analysis and advice in her gynaecology practice and which complaints she addresses in the first place.
I got to know Sarah through our further training course for microbiome and metabolome consultants, which we offer once a year in Einsiedeln. She has her gynecology practice in the middle of Zurich, very close to the train station. You can find the link to her website below under Links.
I was very pleased that Sarah praised our course to become a microbiome and metabolome consultant. Especially that she appreciated the networking with colleagues from the health sector. Because that was exactly our big vision when we launched the training course. We wanted to help holistic therapists get to know and connect with each other so that they can help their patients or clients even better and so that we have various points of contact to which we can refer our clients.
If you know a doctor or therapist who might be interested in the training, please feel free to forward this podcast episode or you can simply use the linkwww.artisbiopharma.ch/fachberater and recommend it to others.
We have already had participants from the fields of: Dentistry, General Medicine, Gynecology, Naturopathy, Osteopathy, Physiotherapy, Nursing, Nutritional Counseling, Fitness Training, Psychology and Massage. What we haven't had yet is someone from a pharmacy or drugstore, which I personally think is a shame. If you work in the healthcare sector yourself and are interested in offering gut health and microbiome analysis, please get in touch with us. You can also give me a call or write to me if you have any questions.
The dates for 2024 are already fixed, there are 3 weekends. The course will take place at our premises in Einsiedeln. If one of the dates does not suit you, it is also possible to complete one of the three weekends online.
We have also registered the training with numerous organizations for continuing education points, so you will even receive points for your participation.
I also had an interview with our head of training, Dr. Simon Feldhaus, here in the podcast. The same goes for most of the lecturers, such as Anne Faulborn on fasting, Dr. Eliane Roux on dental health and the gut, Dr. Beatrice Maxi Borchard on stress and gut health and Dr. Florian Bilz on histamine and the gut-brain axis. You can find all these episodes linked below.
So if you are interested in the training: There is still an Early Bird discount if you register by November 30, 2023 at the latest. So don't hesitate too long and feel free to contact me bymail or by phone on 061 311 77 11.
