Recognize whether your therapist has expertise in the area of the gut
It is my firm belief that the gut almost always plays a role in chronic health problems. You can do a lot on your own to bring the gut back into balance. However, depending on the extent of the health problem and how long you have been "tinkering" with it, it is advisable to consult a specialist who is also well versed in the area of the gut.In today's episode, I present five basic questions that you can use to determine whether your doctor or therapist has this expertise.
In the last podcast episode, I talked about how complex or multi-layered the topic of gut health is. Precisely because there is so much to consider and take into account, it makes a lot of sense to get support from a specialist. Especially if you have been suffering from chronic health complaints for a long time.
That's why I'm giving you 5 questions today that you can ask your current or potential future therapist before you decide to work with them:
👉For which complaints does he consider the area of gut health?
👉What experience does the person have in interpreting microbiome analyses?
👉How do they educate themselves about gut health?
👉Does he support you in selecting suitable products?
👉What is their portfolio of services and/or their network of other therapists or partners? Who do they work with?
These questions will help you to evaluate whether a therapist is suitable for you and, above all, whether they really know their stuff when it comes to gut health.
